Location:
Born in Rockford, IL at St. Anthony's. Moved to Machesney Park, Illinois when I was about 5 (although I think it was called North Park at the time). I went to schools in the area (Marquette 1 - 5, Franklin 6-7, Harlem South 8 - 9, Harlem North 10 - 12). When I graduated in 1988 I went into the US Navy. Boot camp, A-School and Power School were in Orlando Florida. Nuclear Prototype was in Idaho Falls Idaho. I was kicked out of Prototype, and went to Seattle, WA for a short time. After that the Navy put me on the USS Nimitz (this was about 1990). I was on ship for 4 years. My tour on board the Nimitz included 2 WestPacs (Western Pacific cruises). Each WestPac we stopped in California, Alaska, The Phillipines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Hawaii. We were stationed in the Persian Gulf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After my tour in the Navy I came back home to Machesney Park. I worked for 2-3 days at Atwood Mobile making trailer hitches (temp job). I then got hired on at a company called Controls Group. We manufactured digital inking systems for newspaper presses. Working for Controls Group, I got to visit Atlanta GA, and Dallas/Ft Worth TX. I hated Atlanta (too many one way streets). Dallas/Ft. Worth weren't so bad other than it was the middle of summer, and was it blazing hot. I remember stepping out of the newspaper company's loading dock for a break, and I couldn't breathe for a couple of seconds, the air was so hot. After Controls Group, I worked for my dad for a couple of weeks, sharpening saw blades (what fun!). I then started working for Per-Mar security. Per-Mar sent me to Woodward Governor in Roscoe, a high rise apartment building in downtown Rockford, and eventually to Ingersoll. After that, my grand parents wanted me to finish college, so I moved in with them, and attended Rock Valley College. After a little while I decided I wanted money of my own, So I started working at Radio Shack. I had taught myself Visual Basic while I was attending RVC, and I decided that I wanted to program computers. So I quit Radio Shack and got a job working for Kable News Company (now Kable Media Services). That was in 1997. My grandmother died shortly after. Once she passed away, my grandfather and I didn't get along so well, so I moved out on my own. So I now live in down town Rockford, working at Kable in Mt. Morris.
Religion: Buddhist - Raytheist
Raythiesm
is a term that I made up to represent the idea that there is no God. That is that there is no all powerful being that created everything. I do rather believe that there is a God that mankind has devised to be accountable for the unanswerable and unfathomable. This is not to be confused with atheism which is not believing in God. This famous man has a nice write-up on the concept.Buddhism
is of course following the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, whom many people refer to as the Buddha.
